problems after installing suse 10.2 32bit
After installing suse 10.2 its says the partitioning on disk /dev/hda is not readable by the partitioning tool parted, which is used to change the partition table
It wont allow me to boot into suse and only allow a new install, i haven't changed any thing suse has done it all, i have installed the 32bit after the 64 bit coz of lack of drivers. the 64 bit worked fine any ideas of how to cure this problem coz im totally lost now |
hi,
did u take any backup before using parted, that is much important before touching partition table. during installation , do u let the installer to auto partition or done it manually? if get u to new installation, do u see there all the partition u have? When u boot, what error does it fetch? regards, Nirmal Tom. |
i didnt back up coz i had no data on the hard disk, its seperate from my windows one, and yes it was all automatic suse done every thing, not sure whats happened coz when i installed the 64 bit version it worked fine the error i get is at the top of my last post
|
after the install i only get an option to new install, not boot from disk, when i go to new install it doesnt give me any options to install on to hda only sda which is my windows drive

hi,
In the following link u shall find the three sorts of grub error messages http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/man...roubleshooting As u see on the above link, where u get strucked. If nothing happens, the grub may be installed on the other hard disk,Check out that. Try reinstalling grub using rescue mode and do post the error u got or tell us what happens like screen goes blank etc. regards, Nirmal Tom. |
