Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I have installed Fedora 12 on my home PC. I have completely removed Windows. After installation, I am facing the following problems:-
1. After logging in, the Mouse Arrow becomes invisible, though it is active. If I leave the system as it is, the Screensaver is activated and after this, the Mouse Arrow becomes visible. What could be the problem?
2. Fedora 12 does not recognize my printer HP Laserjet 1200 automatically. Printer is connected to USB. Also I find that the Printer Configuration Tool is missing from System>Administration menu.

Hey mganesh30,
For your printer problem install system-config-printer.i686 then you should get the printer config tool under admin and also make sure you got cups installed.
Then when you add a new printer in the printer config tool it will search for any printer connected then you just have to choose the right driver for your printer. If your printer is not in the selection they give you, you can also install hpijs.i686, gutenprint.i686 and gutenprint-cups.i686 for additional HP and other printer drivers.
If the driver is still not there go check on hp's site for the linux driver, install that and do the new printer process again and the correct printer should then be there.
I am new to Linux. Please explain how I should install system-config-printer.i686
