Problem with synaptic package manager in Pinguy OS 12.04LTS

I have a Dell Latitude e6400 Dual booting XP pro x64 and Pinguy OS 12.04 LTS x64. I was updating today and for whatever reason synaptic removed wine 1.5 and playonlinux. Once i discovered this I tried to reinstall them and synaptic would not let me do so. It said something like it needed a dependency but would not install. The dependency was located right underneath in the list but would not let me install that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
you might have a similar problem to one I had some months ago. To be certain I'd have to know exactly what error you're getting. If it is a similar error to the "Read error - read (5 Input/output error)", then this link should help.
