Problem with SW 14 and Radeon HD
I'm new to slackware (14) and trying to get it without asking too many questions, but I'm stumped on this one.
When my laptop boots, everything goes well until (what seems to be) the ititiation of the video driver. Sometimes
the screen goes totally black , sometimes the backlight on the display will stay on, and sometimes it will boot
perfectly. Even if there is no video output the machine boots properly (I have NetManager starting from rc.local,
so I know the boot completes.) Similar behavior is exhibited when trying to recover from sleep mode.I think I've
learned enough to provide some useful information that may assist solving this problem.
