Problem with sound while playing movies
 
i can't get the sound of movies while playing
There is no problem with video and also there is no problem for playing mp3...
please help

Here is the error message while trying to play the movie with mplayer...

check your permissions on you audio devices (/dev/dsp and the others) and make sure they're set to user. That might help.
If not you might have an other program that's keeping your audio device busy, kill that and then try again.

ok, so you're in gnome i assume. and mplayer knows there's an esd sever to connect to, but the way it's been set up it 's not allowing "forgien" prorgams to conenct to it. run "esdctl unlock" (i think) and then the esd server should allow the connection just fine

if it's not actually running an esd server (maybe arts.. or maybe you're just playing an mp3 or something....) then you'll want to tell mplayer to use the arts (kde) sound server instead (mplayer -ao arts - IF mplayer is compiled to use arts)
