Angry Problem with Sound Card on Driver's on Redhat

I'm running Redhat Linux on a Compaq Presario with onboard sound. It says it's a Soundblaster Live! but it says that it has the driver's installed. Still no sound is coming out of known good speakers. I don't know a whole lot about Linux but I'm pretty computer versed. If anyone can help me please don't be afraid to sound too technical. As long as you can explain what I need to do...

I've never heard of Red Hat publisher's edition. What version are youu running -- give us the results of "cat /etc/redhat-release" and "uname -a" (both typed in on the command line, no quotes). We need to know roughly what you're running to give you help.

With /etc/redhat-release it prints "Redhat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)" So that was my fault for giving the wrong release. And with uname -a it prints "Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.7-10 #1 Thu Sep 6 16:46:36 EDT 2001 i686 unknown" Also to note, it's not networked yet, cuz I haven't figured out how to do that either, but right now I just need help getting my soundcard working. Let me know if that helps.

Nevermind. I completely fixed it. It was just a stupid hardware issue. Thanx for the help anyway.
