Problem with sound

I have problem with sound.I tryed with sndconfig and only thing i get is:

PCI Probe Results:

A PCI sound card was found in
your system.The details are:
Model : Ensoniq : unknown
Device 1274:5880

And after I press OK:

The Ensoniq : unknown device 1274:5880
Is not supported.

I have Sound Blaster Audio PCI.
The version of Linux is Red Hat 6.1.
If it is posible I would like simple explanation .Thanks for any help.

Do you have the exact specs for your sound card? What distro do you use? Looks like your card isn't supported. Try alsa drivers.

Oops! Sorry, I didn't look at your message closely enough! You card probably isn't supported in the kernel shipped with rh6.1. Try upgrading the kernel, the distro, or use alsa drivers. Hope this helps.

Upgrade the distro!

RH 6.1 is getting a little (??) stale these days and won't have support for a lot of modern hardware (from memory, that includes USB among others). If you can buy/download the latest RH distro, I recommend you do, as the 7.x RedHat series is a huge improvement over the 6.x series.

The soundblaster PCI uses either the es1370 or es1371 modules. I have a vibra 128 and that uses the es1371. Try "modprobe es1370" as root first and if that dosn't work try it with "es1371".
