problem with sendmail after configuring network

I am configuring a network of 8 systems. After entering the ip's & names of the hosts in the /etc/hosts file I rebooted the system. But after that when my system boots it takes a long time to start sendmail.I had not removed the loopback address.can anybody know why this happens?

With 32 posts, I'd figure you'd have read the rules. Please don't post the same question twice

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
