Problem with OTA upgrade from OpenSUSE 12.1 to 12.2
I have 12.1 installed on my box and today I did the over the air upgrade using Konsole. I followed the commands but skipped some errors that were blocking me.
12.2 loaded successfully and I can see all the 12.2 graphical changes, except for when you choose which os version you want to use, I choose 12.2 and it goes from there to a black screen with a command line, and when I log in and give pwd; all I have is the konsole. It's just the command line...that's it. I did some research and used some commands given and nothing has worked. I know that's not really a good explanation but if anyone has suggestions or further questions, just ask. Thank you in advance. |

one of them might have been installing NEEDED things You DO have a full back up of YOUR data , music, photos, documents , web bookmarks, encryption hashes ,... do a clean new install and move over your data from your backup I have never had a "upgrade" ( except for CentOS5 5.1to 5.2 to 5.3 ... and Scientific Linux6.1 to 6.2 to 6.3 ) work ,never. and suse has a LOT of incompatible third party repos ( THAT DO change system files !!!) Packman for starters then OBS |
