problem with network configuration
Hey guys, I am on Fedora Core 3. my problem is that for some reason that I can't figure out, I lost my connection to the web. Here's what I did:
Root --> Setup --> Network Configuration "would you like to set up networking?" clicked "yes" THen I entered my IP address, and and just pressed enter for the other 3 options (netmask, default gateway, primary nameserver) where they were filled automatically. And now I can't access any http or ssh! Your help is greatly appreciated!! |

How about http://68.142.197.80 ? |
Hi, I am not very sure but the ssh problem maybe because of a wrongly entered subnet mask.
You said you just pressed enter and the entries were automatically filled. Now here the subnet mask filled automatically (i.e. by default) is the default subnet mask of the class of I.P. addresses you are using, whereas your network may be using some other subnet mask in which case you may have such problems. Can you ping other computers in your subnet? If you get something like : Code:
Please check with the people in your subnet about what subnet mask they are using? Post back what you find. Hope this helps. |
Hi guys. problem solved. thank you. :)
