Problem with mplayer

Hello, I just installed mplayer (or at least I think I did), and I can't figure out how to get it to run.

I ran "whereis mplayer" but all I received were directories. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Problem solved. I was typing mplayer in the console, and I needed to add that 'g'. Thank you so much!
