Problem with Mozilla Browser

I just got my computer last week, and I'm learning Linux Ubuntu and loving it so far. The only problem I seem to be having is that my browser window closes on me from time to time. It happened twice yesterday, and once today already. Anyone got any ideas? (I have qwest dsl)

Thanks
Daisy

Could be about anything.
What's the browser version?
Do you run any plugins or extensions?

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is there a specific site which causes crashes?

Ubuntu 6.06 is the version I have. I don't know what plugins are. It crashed while I was in hotmail this morning, and yesterday while I was looking at gardening sites.

Have a look at this thread, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=509340 that may have a solution for you.

I had problems with the hotmail website after I installed the flash plugin and Firefox would close on every website using flash content.

The link in this thread solved the problem I had with Firefox 2.

what is the browser?

You could try running it from a trminal, it'll spit all errors there and you can see what happens when it crashes

Ok Interdictor, I followed the instructions, and it worked perfectly. My browser no longer crashes. However, I've lost sound when I try to play videos on youtube! Not only that, but now when I open my browser, it doesn't start on my default page which is google. It opens two tabs at once...one is export.gov and the other is Xorg X11 and Transparency on the Wiki help website! WTF!! Help!!!

By the way, thanks for the help, folks. I hate feeling stupid, but I'm glad I'm learning this stuff.

It seems to be a problem either with Firefox or the Flashplayer 9. I reinstalled flashplayer, and now I can't open my Hotmail again. I've got sound and video, but I just get an error message when I try to go into hotmail. Ethics, how do I run it in terminal? I want to try that.
