Problem with mandrake's konsole shell...Plz HELP
 

Hi,
This is my first posting here, and I hope will not go unanswered.

1) I installed mandrake 9.1 linux a few days ago, and did nothing to it. Now when I click on konsole it starts out with these lines:

bash: m: command not found
[madiyaan@r46h27 madiyaan]$

It is really irritating. The first line wasnt there when I first installed linux a couple of days ago. Also this doesnt appear when I log on as a super user (root) and type in konsole.

2) When I go to control center and click on linux kernel it says:

The kernel configuration coudl not be read due to the following reasons

cannot open /usr/src/linux/arch/config.in for reading
Either your configuration is not right or you found a bug in the KDE kernel configurator.

3) I downloaded vnc (virtual network connection) for remote access of my computer. It says it is a perl script and I do not know how to execute it. when i type in the file name, it says command not found.

I hope some linux guru answers me.

Did do a checksum or md5sum against all the iso images. What write speed did you go at.

Install the kernel source package.

[scripts]
You can type sh, bash, or perl and then the script. You can always chmod the file. Sorry, I don't remember the chmod code for scripts.

I forgot, go into menudrake and look for konsole. Erase anything next to konsole in the command box. It should only be konsole. If only konsole is there. Go into your home directory with konqueror and activate show hidden files. Load up .bashrc in any editor that you like. Then edit it. Don't forget to make a backup of that file before editing it. Look for something with an m. You could have open up this file and accidently typed m and then close the file.

I got that fixed but I still have a problem with VNC. I want VNC just like the windows xp version of it (ie I should be able to move my mouse etc. from a computer other than my own over the network). Thanks.

Sorry for the double posting but there is also another problme that is bugging me. How do I set the num lock to on by default when the computer starts in linux? (In windows xp it does)
