define high speed internet. for ones that used to sit on 28k modem, a link with 128k is high speed.
and the thing most matter is what's the method of connection? LAN? LAN+DHCP? or something other? PPPoE? PPTP?

Hi,Iam using wired broadband connection in India,I do not know how to configure it. so i am not getting net through linux.

yeah i also have wired broadband connection...
how your computer is meant to be connected? is it an IP you set yourself from settings given to you by ISP or is it some protocol over ethernet? like PPPoE, PPTP? what is yours?
don't you have any instructions from your ISP? i think you can call ISP and ask them to help, they should. in fact they must.
