Angry problem with graphic card


hi all
i use suse linux6.4 on old pentium three system becase i work with special software that only work with this version of linux i upgraded computer system to 3.20ghz pentium4 with gygabyt motherboard and nvidia geforce7300se graphic card after this when i start new system (with old hard disk) kde can't started and i can only work in text mode becase the linux version is old and can't support new graphic card(nvidia geforce 7300)any body advice me what i can do for solveing this problem

First try to use
Code:
Driver "nv"
in the Section "Screen" of /etc/X11/XF86config (or something like that iirc), because I don't think that your Suse version uses the new /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
If that doesn't work then you can try and see if any of these legacy drivers works with your kernel. Before building the driver, you must make sure that you have kernel-source package installed.
If all of the above fail you can use other driver, like svga or vesa, but you cannot have the benefits of the nvidia driver.
