Problem with Geforce FX 5200 when entering text/console mode

I am having a problem with the new Nvidia geforce FX driver. The install goes well and he X-server functions perfectly but when I try to go to text/console mode via alt-ctrl-F[1-6] I get this weird snowy distortion. You can make out what should be there for example "login:" but it is as I have said garbled and distorted. I think this is a problem with the geforce drivers because if I go back to the normal "nv" driver everything is fine and if I boot up in text/console mode everything is fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the newest drivers? 5364 is the latest - released today

When I go to the NVIDIA site I still see the 5336 driver. Where can I find the new one?

i'm sorry, i made a mistake. the 5346 driver is a non-nvidia release by pny.com for the quadro FX, but seems to be working with the GeForce FX as well.
i found out about it on gooeylinux.org which will point you to nvnews.net where you can see screenshots of people using their GeForce FX cards. the driver is available on pny.com
