Problem with FIPS

I'm trying to install Red Hat 8 to dual-boot (other OS is Win Me). I've defragmented my HD (which is a 14GB, IDE) but every time I load FIPS to partition the drive it first gives me the note about the difference in 'physical' and 'theoretical' start points (or whatever it calls them) and then it shows an error that "the number of sectors in the partition table must match the number of sectors in the boot sector," upon which it exits. The two numbers are very close (I think they differ by only 9). What can I do to make FIPS run?

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite 1805-S203 with the standard internal HD.

Thanks
Jake
