Problem with dmesg

Hi,
I am getting some stange output when I run dmesg. When I run it at the commandline as root or a normal user I get strange output. I have posted it at the bottom of this post. I read on the web that it might have something to do with CUPS and portwalling. So in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf I commented out

BrowseAddress @LOCAL
to
#BrowseAddress @LOCAL

This did not fix the problem. I have had a look on the web but am still lost. Here is the output from dmesg;

OK, which section of the dmesg output concerns you? Normally you would just post the relevant section.

If it's the part referencing hdc, it appears you may have a removable media drive set to auto mount but contains no media. If this is incorrect, please explain exactly what it is you're looking for here.

When I first installed mandrake, dmesg would output a list of hardware that was dectected at boot (at least thats what I think it does.) I am trying to get information about my hardware. eg;

# dmesg | grep eth2

ect....

hope this makes it easier to understand what I mean.

Yep, that's what dmesg is supposed to do alright. Not sure why you aren't getting it though.
