Problem with Bootable Flash Drive

I am new to Linux & want to try Mint on a bootable flash drive. I downloaded the newest edition of mint (cinnamon) 64bit ISO from linux.com and used the tool Pendrivelinux.com. I used MD5 and SHA Checksum Utility to check the file and #'s matched. Was able to boot using usb drive but it doesn't show Mint, just black screen with scrolling white writing and then stops and just sits. I'm running Windows7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 on Acer Aspire 5560-Quad Core AMD A-6-3420 M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.50 GhZ Ram memory 6.00GB System type 64-bit OS.
The lines say Loading essential drivers...done. Running scripts ini-premount...done. Mounting root file system...Running scripts casper-premount...[ 8.965024] scsi 2:0:0:0: Direct -Access PNY USB 2.0FD 11PQ:0 ANSI 4 [ 8.965776] sd 2:0:0:0: Attached SCSi generic Sg2 type 0 [ 9.470680] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb]15950592 512-byte logical blocks... These lines repeat again. Don't know if this is important but will list them anyway..these are listed under one of my settings when I hit F12 to go in and change my boot order: Quiet Boot -Enabled Net Boot -Enabled F12 Boot Menu-Enabled D2D Recovery- Enabled SATA Mode: [AHCI mode]

Sorry this post is so long but I am not familiar with all this lingo and didn't want to miss something that might point out the problem to those trying to help me.
I tried this with Ubuntu and it did the same thing. I hope someone can help me b/c I am so tired of dealing with Windows. A technician told me he could install Mint for me for $50-60 but I would like to try it first. I appreciate any help you might offer.

If you have another computer available, try booting the flash drive from it just to eliminate that as a possible problem. Pendrivelinux is usually pretty reliable but this is simple to check if you have another computer. You might take a look at the link below for a possible solution to the problem.

Flash Drive is a No Go

Thanks for the replies but I just can't seem to fix the problem. I tried making a DVD which also did not work. I must be doing something wrong. Have a tech that is going to install Mint for me tomorrow. I am just trusting that I will fall in love with it! Anything has to be better than Windows! I have always run Windows starting with 95 but am just fed up with all the junk that comes along with it! I'm actually very excited about switching and am reading everything I can find to help me learn.
