problem with airtel data card(USB) conf

i am trying to configur airtel data cart in ubuntu
for that i change the setting of /etc/wvdial.conf to

Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
Band = 752000
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 S11=55 +FCLASS=0
Phone = myphone number

Username =
Password =
New PPPD = yes
Carrier Check = no
Stupid Mode = yes

after that i run this command
i got this message
WvDial<*1>: WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.56
WvModem<*1>: Cannot get information for serial port.
WvDial<*1>: Initializing modem.
WvDial<*1>: Sending: ATZ
WvDial<*1>: Sending: ATQ0
WvDial<*1>: Re-Sending: ATZ
WvDial<Err>: Modem not responding.

I use my cell phone to connect, try looking for the username and password for airtell (on my netwrok you have to xyz for both no matter what). Also is the number you'r dialling correct? Most providers need you to dial something like #8#1234#2 or something like that.

Wouldnt hurt to search for compatibilty of your specific card cuz a lot of gsm modems basically refuse to work under linux (SPECIALLY the generic ones in my experiance anyway)
