Problem with AIOPendrivelinux08 and HP 2133

I just bought an HP 2133 loaded with 2g Ram and XP pro (because there are a few Windows apps. I *must* run). I want to try out Linux and created a bootable USB pendrive with 'All in one pendrive linux'. It is supposed to run natively or within XP but the problem I get in both instances is this message:

"Could not read network connection list. Please check that the DCOPserver program is running." (Or similar - that might not be word-for word) I know what the DCOPserver does but not how to sort out this problem.

Can anybody help? I'm computer literate but a Linux dunce!

Terence
