Problem w/IE4 Linux-can't install flash player.

Hi Everyone.

For my business I often have to take courses online that are on sites that don't support Firefox which I prefer. I am just learning Linux and it took me 3 installs to get it set up with the dual boot so I could read the documents from either os [xp or Ubuntu] without rebooting. . On the previous 2 installs I loaded IE4 Linux with no problem but the last one [I hope ;} ] for some reason gets to the flash player and hangs.
chances are I will never need it but just in case I would like to have it. Anyone have an idea why this happened?
I tried 3 times in terminal and finally tried installing from the gui and unchecked the flash player and it worked fine.
If I had to guess it is a server glitch as it worked twice before. But I am totally green with Linux but so far I am pretty jazzed at how its going.

Thanks

Well,

I am not quite sure why you may need IE4.
I guess that Macromedia does not even support a native Windows version of Flash for IE4.

There is a native version of Flash Player for Linux and Mac OS X since at least a decade ago.

If you need IE I would strongly suggest using IE6 which is surely easier to handle as the prehistoric IE4 and for which Macromedia still offers a version of Flash Player.

A second option would be to install a full blown Win 95 / Win98 into a virtual machine like virtual box and run it from there in his native environment and in seamless mode.
