Problem w/ Flat Screen Monitor

I was wondering...Has anyone seen this. I have a LG L1720P 17" flat screen montior and it works fine. I recently have a machine which is partitioned for Win XP and Red Hat 9.0. I just installed Red Hat 9.0 on the partition and when I try and run the OS my monitor blakcs out and goes into a sleep mode. However, I am able to see the initialization screen such as mounting the devices, starting eth0, etc... It is just when it is about to show the log in screen my monitor goes black. I believe it is a driver problem w/ the video card or monitor

Which Video card make/model do you have? is it an ati card?

i as because i had a similar problem with a samsung monitor. I started my pc in runlevel 3 and used links to download the ati drivers. after installing them it was fine.

try starting without the graphical login, then if it starts up ok theres a good chance its your graphics card drivers or hardware.
