Problem Using LiveCD

Today i went back for my final year of my course. And as since May, as i have been pretty much using Linux for all my work am tired of Windows. So to do my work and to browse the net i took in Knoppix Live CD to use instead of windows XP.

However i cant seem to get it to work. As the computer seems to be ignoring the CD drive and booting from the hard drive always to windows (i assume the Hard Drive is above the CD drive in the boot bios). However the bios on the machines is password protected and obvioulsy i dont have this.

Therefore can i ask is there anyway i can force the machine to boot from CD without going into the bios and use my Knoppix CD (or other linux) liveCD.

Thank You
Anthony

I think, u need to go to BIOS and change CD-ROM to first boot device. That's the option I can think of!

However, there is some option of booting from a linux boot floppy and then inserting the CD (this can be done, because generally the floppy drive is the first boot device)

I think it should help though I haven't tried this procedure yet!

well, two solutions
1- ON YOUR BEHALF: open the back panel of CPU, remove the power cable of HD, the CD is the only available drive.
i think your not allowed to do so in your place.
2- what about floppy? if u can boot from floppy, check if knoppix have floppy disk capabilty
