Hello,

I have just installed samba from yum but i cant find its starter script /etc/init.d/

How to start samba ?

It's smbd/smb and nmbd/nmb on many distributions.

You edit the smb.conf file in /etc or /etc/samba with the configuration for your local setup, if you have a specific issue we can address it if you want to provide additional information.

For RHEL/Centos/Fedora

/sbin/service smb start
/sbin/service smb stop
