Problem on Oracle Installation

Hi everyone£º

Have anybody successfully install Oracle 9.2.0.4 on Rehat Enterprise Linux AS 3 Update 5? Problem occurs when I try to patch the OS, it says
" error while loading shared libraries: /etc/libcwait.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". But the file "libcwait.so" does exist in the corresponding directory. Then, OS crashes. Manully restart the computer, I get "KERNEL PANIC".

That will jump you to the section for the problem you appear to be having. You will need to download a file fix from metalink to allow the install to complete. Updates like this are commonly needed with oracle as it relies on particular libraries being available. You will need to also check that you have all the appropriate compatabibity libraries installed which are also listed in the guide above.

My problems occured when I tried to intall Oracle92040 (64bit) on RHEL AS 3 U5(x86_64). And I have solved these by following the guidelines in an article from the Metalink.
