yes lilo was installed but i was looking at the tutorials for lilo and they are not the same? all mine is showing me is
linux boot : this is what it is showing me on the prompt |

most probably, your LILO has overwritten your current MBR.. (if you have windows installed) you must add your windows partition in your lilo.. in order for it to show up. .. try entering : boot: linux 1 (it's a root access) |
ok I did that and I still cant log in it says login incorrect? the only difference is now it says
(none) login : before it said darckstar login |

ok it worked when i typed in root but how do i figure out what my login is?
|
how do you get to the gui interface startx-command? when i type that in its says no command found?

you may not have created "regular users" upon logging in root, create a user. $ useradd / adduser (command) the rest is self explanatory :) are your able to login using the GUI?(KDE) or via console? |
ok nevermind that last thread got the interface to work. typed it in wrong lol although i cant use the mouse or fingerpad at all? Its like it froze the error message that popped up is kde crash handler?

check : $ cat /etc/inittab $ check the section : initdefault:n ---where n is a number. below that file you can see on what number is the login for the GUI. in SW i think it's 4 |
