Hi all, complete newbie to Linux so apologies if this is a 'dumb' question.
I bought my daughters a an Acer Netbook for use in the house, however, I soon realised I cant keep an eye on what they are doing like I can with the Windows based PC. I have searched the net (for hours) for some kind of parent monitoring software and can only find keyloggers. So I downloaded THC's Vlogger, got the package typed in ./configure something happens and then the below:
./configure: line 25: /proc/ksyms: No such file or directory
Where is the linux source build directory [/lib/modules/2.6.23.9lw/build]:
if i type make it does the file, i then can configure the settings but when i try to load the module I get the below after typing in vlgctrl load
insmod: can't read '-q': No such file or directory

what on earth does it all mean?
thanks
Linux Mint comes with parent monitoring software. It has also is very easy to set up and use (very easy), and has a very "pretty" desktop.
I assume that you have downloaded and extracted the directory somewhere. So if the name of the directory is example and it is your home, then you can just cd example. You will be inside the directory. Now you can run make install.
