Ive had Redhat working before..this problem came out of nowhere when i started up my system.
I have a nVideo Geforce4 that is recognised when the computer loads because it says the video card info before loading the bios I cant get to any thing so i cant even see the error logs |
You still should be able to get to a console, Ctrl-Alt-F1

I would say is a refresh rate issue.
What is your distro? what is in your /var/log/XFree86.0.log ? To post the contents of the file here do as follows: # mount /floppy # cp /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 /floppy # cp /var/log/XFree86.0.log /floppy -come here and do a copy-paste dance If you using Debian try: # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 fix the refresh rates for your monitor. if you using a different distro, then manually edit: /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 try using 'vi' or 'vim' to edit it (IE. /etc/X11$ vim XFree86-4) |
