Hi Khudfl..

1st question: I'm using the wimax module_1.02.zip

2nd question: I'm using Ubuntu 12.10

3rd question: Please show the outputs from the two commands :
'uname -m', and 'cat /etc/issue'.

I'm sorry, I could not understand about this question. Where can I get all the outputs?

When you type this in a terminal window : cat /etc/issue <Enter>
... a text will appear as the reply : Ubuntu 12.10

And : uname -m <Enter>
.. the reply is either "i686" or "x86_64" : That's your architecture.

If you have 'i686', the OS is 32bits, and can be used for all ns2.

Hi Khudfl,

thanks for the details steps given. Here are the answers:

zana@zana-VirtualBox:~$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 12.10 \n \l

zana@zana-VirtualBox:~$ uname -m
i686

However, I'm still having problem how to copy the patch to the ns directory (steps 2)
(Please copy 'ns228-gcc40.patch' and 'ns-2.28-gcc410.patch'to the directory with ns-allinone-2.28/.)

Can you please once again tell me the specific steps for this..Thanks again..

Copying or moving a file to a directory is one of the most basic things
to do in a computer. What is going wrong ?
And why can't you copy the file from e.g. Downloads to the directory
with ns-allinone-2.28/ ?

# 20 : Looks like you are trying to list something ? Or ?

An ns-allinone-2.28 example in a directory "0tmp/" :
Code:
$ cd 0tmp/
$ ls
ns228-gcc40.patch.txt  ns-2.28-gcc410.patch.txt  ns-allinone-2.28/
I.e. there are 3 files in "the directory with ns-allinone-2.28".
There is no question in post # 20, and you are not supposed to use
any of the commands indicated in post # 20.

I'm trying to install a module in Ns2.35, however when at the make step, the results shows that:

dccp/dccp.cc:1427:32: error: ‘PT_DCCP’ was not declared in this scope
make: *** [dccp/dccp.o] Error 1

Can you please advise me Sir.

I'm using ubuntu 12.10.

Sir, I've tried the code from post 22, however here is the result:

tcl8.5.10 configuration failed! Exiting ...
Tcl is not part of the ns project. Please see www.Scriptics.com
to see if they have a fix for your platform.

Please help me again Sir.

tcl8.5.10 installation failed

Sir, I'm very confused here..

in the Ns-2.35 folder, there is tcl8.5.10 folder.But when run in the terminal. it cannot find the folder. Again when type sudo apt-get install tcl8.5, it gives result: unable to locate package tcl8.5.10.

Can you please explain to me Sir, does it mean the Ns installation was failed? I thought when I type ns,it shows $ and when I typed nam, the nam figure is out..it shows that the installation is success.

Please advise me Sir..

What is it, you run in a terminal ? ?
Please be more clear, like "I do this <command>, and the result / error is ..."

$ sudo apt-get install tcl8.5 : Will install "tcl8.5 version 8.5.11",
which is OK for ns-2.35.
The real requirement is : $ sudo apt-get install tcl8.5-dev

If any external tcl is required at all :
I have not seen a situation where ns-allinone-2.35 required any extra tcl.

May be start from scratch :
$ tar xvf ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz
$ cd ns-allinone-2.35/ && export CC=gcc-4.4 CXX=g++-4.4 && ./install

Dear Sir,
1. I delete all the ns2.35 files in the home folder to uninstall it.
2. Next I install ns2.35 using the steps posted by MounaRM (post 6 on 18/11/12). And I did change the code sudo apt-get install gcc-4.4 g++-4.4 to code export CC=gcc-4.4 CXX=g++-4.4 && ./install.
3. Then I validate the installation which took about 1 hour.
4. Next I install a module in ns2.35.When at the make step: it shows:

Repeat : Please be more clear, when you explain something. LWX is a broad term.

→ → The minimum information that you should have provided is :
1) The file name for the downloaded package, like lwx_v0.1_r78-ns2.33.zip
2) A direct download link.

There is some "wimax lwx" here
