hi,
i got the same probl with superkaramba, same output
<< checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes >>
and in my case i had the xorg-x11-devel already so what that could be ?
I spent ages trying to solve this one, and eventually dropped down a version or two. Superkaramba 0.33 (IIRC, not at my own box just now) has RPMs available for Mandrake 10.1 Community / Official. Try rpmseek
The Python.h missing error can be solved normally by installing the package python-devel.
The X missing errors on Mandrake 10.1 can be fixed by installing the xorg-x11-devel package.
Hope this helps you some.
cheers,
-Ryan

rpm available is ver .34 and there is something missing in regard of ver. 35 that doesn't allow some themes to get installed/be used
have anyone installed superkaramba on mdk 10.1 or similar ?
Version 0.34 *does* work with mandrake 10.1 Official.
AFAIK, the fundamental problem is that Superkaramba was written for XFree86. Most distros, mandrake included, now default to Xorg. Unless there's a reasonably simple solution - which so far I haven't been able to find - I'm happy to wait. I'm only a point release behind.

What i have wrote was a little confusing, and prob. you have not understood me ('cos when i read myself i don't understand myself neither)
i wanted to say that the version .35 doesn't want to install on mdk10.1, through urmpi the version .34 is available that installes without any pbms, but ... is doesn't have the same functionality that new .35 has
the question i wanted to ask is whether someone had mannaged to install the version .35 on mdk10
You may want to post into our forums on sourceforge. There is a urpmi repository there that someone has posted with updated rpms.
Here's the most recent post: https://sourceforge.net/forum/messag...msg_id=2930753
Try that.
