problem installing something went wrong

i downloaded this Name: libkdebase4-devel
Version: 3.3.2-100.1.102mdk
through package control centree after a lengthy download on my dial up all seemed ok but it locked up as it was installing, now the package still shows up in control centre but when i try to tick it to install the timer just spins indefinitely and it won tick, how can i fix this?

It sounds like the file itself may be corrupted unfortunately, assuming you are able to install other packages through your package manager (not that familiar with Mandrake). If you do a search for the downloaded file, compare the filesize against the expected file size from the KDE download site. Assuming they match, compare the md5 sums, which is a bit more complicated, to make sure the file is intact. If they don't match or the md5 sums do not match, unfortunately the file itself is corrupt and will need to be download again.
