Exclamation problem installing red hat


whenever i goto install linux red hat and i click on the graphical install i get this error after its detecting everything
Crc error<6> freeing initrd memory:2640k freed
vfs:cannot open root device ""or 48:05
please append a correct"root=" boot option
kernel panic: vfs :unable to mount root fs on 48:05

i have a partition created for it 15 gigs ext3..um..=\ some help?

hi

if you have download the cd. make sure you check it through md5 or using the checkinstall option

hi

its actually check media. when you start the installation by pressing enter in boot prompt

linux checkmedia should be entered. read the redhat installation manual for more details

um i'm still getting that error Lol even when i do checkmedial..it seems to check it then i get that error..

so u get that error when u get the dialog asking to verify the integrity of the medium and u insert your 3 disks and it specifically says that your disc is faulty?

if not, please be more specific as to where u get this message

if all fails, redownload the isos (if u downloaded them), or try them on a different computer

no it does'nt get that far..i press linux checkmedia thenits like loading vm linux bla blathen it like checks my keyboard and all that kinda stuff and then just hangs there..

hmm, normally checkmedia won't load anything and just check your disks... u sure that u selected check media or did u accidently hit skip?

if u have an extra computer around, see if u can get the installer to boot, don't worry, it won' install until the installer says: "now is your last chance to reboot"
