Problem Installing Red Hat 9 via NFS

---DISREGARD.--- The problem below amounted to a bad floppy. Sorry, folks...

I am encountering a problem similar to that posted by zip in the thread titled "Kernel panic: Redhat 9 install."

I am trying to perform an installation of Red Hat 9 via NFS using a diskette image based on the file bootdisk.img from the images directory of RH 9 CD 1. With the diskette in the target machine, I boot it up and select text mode by entering linux text [ENTER]. Then I get the following messages:

VFS: Cannot open root device "" or 48:05
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 48:05

The Caps Lock and Scroll Lock LEDs were also blinking at this point.

Since I was booting from a diskette, I tried restarting the installation process, this time entering linux text root=/dev/fd0 [ENTER] to attempt to let it know the boot process was from a diskette, at least at this point. Then the following message appears:

VFS= Insert root floppy and press ENTER

Since the boot diskette was in place, I just pressed [ENTER]. Then the following appears:

cramfs: wrong magic
VFS: Mounted root (vfat filesystem) readonly.
Freeing unused kernel memory: 104k freed
Warning: unable to open an initial console
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.
