Question problem installing linux to harddrive from disk


I can not get linux os disk to install to my hp computer ,only will run from os disk in my unit what am i doing wrong it says install and i click on it but it does'nt install on hard drive .is there something else i need to do to put this os on my computer.

You need to provide us with alot more information, like the specs of your computer, the distribution of linux that you are using
