hi
i am entirely a new baby to linux.
i want to install gtk.
i installed almost all libraries like
pkgconfig0.20.0 jpeg-v6b,zlib 1.2.2,tiff-3.5.7 ,
png-1.2.7 ,freetype-2.1.4,expat-1.95.0,
fontconfig-2.2.0,glib-2.6.4,pango-1.8.1,atk-1.0.1 .
now when i tried to compile gtk-2.0.2 with gdktarget=x11 i got the following error message.
checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes
checking for XRenderFindFormat in -lXrender... yes
checking for XftFontOpen in -lXft... yes
checking for X11/Xft/XftFreetype.h... no
configure: error: pangoxft Pango backend found, but Xft not found
i had installed xft,xrender also.
/usr/local/include/X11/Xft/ has only Xft.h and XftCompat.h
what should i do to compile gtk successfully
please help
thank you in advance
like muha said it's hard to answer without knowing your distro ( since xorg comes with a version of xft that should be enough if it's set up right), but if you installed xft in /usr/local do:
"Please update your distribution in your profile since i can't tell what distro you're using right now?"
sorry i am really new to this..
what do u mean by this distribution
