Problem Installing Fedora Core 2 in VMWare4.
Hi
I tried installing Fedora core2 in VMWare and I had problem booting Linux. I am having Windows XP Professional as my host OS and Installed Fedora Core 2 as guest OS in VMWare Workstation 4.0. I used Fedora core's Test mode installation. The installation was SUCCESSFUL. I tried rebooting VMWare workstation to boot into Linux. I got the grub screen and I selected Linux... then I got the following message.. =========== Uncompressing Linux... ok booting the kernel PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 4 of device 0000:00:07.1 audit(1129882639.304:0) initialized. running in testmode RedHat nash version 3.5.22 starting kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown -block(0,0) ============= Previously I was using Redhat 7.3 as guest OS in VMWare and everything was fine.. this porblem is only with Fedora Core. Does VMWare Workstation 4.0 support Fedora Core 2 ?? did anyone have this problem ?? I know this may not be the right place to ask questions abt VMWare workstation :) .. but I believe some guys may be familiar with the above Linux problem .. -MJ |
Re: Problem Installing Fedora Core 2 in VMWare4.
I was using VMware 4.5 today with Ubuntu, all no problems.
I think this is an issue for the VMWare support staff or check out their forums. Failing that, use usenet and look out a VMWARE forum. Cheers, Al. Quote:
