problem in telnet

We frequently received the following message when Linux is connected through TelNet (in Windows XP).

"Connection to the host is lost"

If we restart TelNet, we are able to work but after few minutes again the connection is lost with the above message.

Please give a solution, if any, at the earliest.

That would be the server disconnecting you, or some problem with the network. It's most likely to be the network really. what are you doing at the time?

btw, telnet is the devil incarnate, and you REALLY should not use it due to security issues. instead, try using ssh with a windows client like putty. That would also help localize the problem you have here too.
