Problem in SETTING up TIGER VNC in Fedora11
hii....
I am facing some problem during configuring VNC server in fedora11. in FEDORA 9 the script file was located in /etc/sysconfig/vncservers location.I have upgraded my system to fedora11 but now when i am looking for the configuration file in that above mentioned location my system is showing the following messages ------------------------------------------------------------------------- # vi /etc/sysconfig/vncservers owned by: root dated: Sat Dec 26 21:40:10 2009 file name: /etc/sysconfig/vncservers modified: YES user name: root host name: localhost.localdomain process ID: 4044 While opening file "/etc/sysconfig/vncservers" (1) Another program may be editing the same file. If this is the case, be careful not to end up with two different instances of the same file when making changes. Quit, or continue with caution. (2) An edit session for this file crashed. If this is the case, use ":recover" or "vim -r /etc/sysconfig/vncservers" to recover the changes (see ":help recovery"). If you did this already, delete the swap file "/etc/sysconfig/.vncservers.sw p" to avoid this message. "/etc/sysconfig/vncservers" [New File] Press ENTER or type command to continue ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I dont know what to do now. When I am pressing enter its opening a new file and what is that .vncservers.swap file? please any one help me Thanks in advance |
clearly this has nothing at all to do with VNC, but with your editor VI. It also very clearly tells you *EXACTLY* what to do in the message you pasted. Did you actually read that message?? if in doubt, just run "rm /etc/sysconfig/vncservers" like the message says.
Don't run VNC though, it's rubbish, try NX instead. |
thank u
