Problem in LDAP Server configuration
 

Assalam o Alaikum. I am trying to configure openldap-2.4.32 server on fedora 14. After installation I got following directories:


# ls /usr/local/etc/openldap/
DB_CONFIG.example ldap.conf ldap.conf.default schema schema.4949 slapd.conf slapd.conf.default slapd.ldif slapd.ldif.default

#ls /etc/openldap/
cacerts ldap.conf schema slapd.d

Where should I do configuration in either of above? what is difference between slapd.conf and ldap.conf.

Please let me know step by step configuration.

No, this isn't the place to come for "step by step" instructions, as you've been told before. There are MANY sites that have tutorials, and are easily found with a brief Google search...have you done/tried that???? Amazingly, the very first hit for "how to configure ldap on fedora 14" is this:

From the Fedora website. Also, Fedora 14 is still old, as it's been mentioned to you before...the latest is 17.

Note that if you REALLY need step by step help, you should probably hire a consultant. LDAP is quite tricky, and the fact that much of the documentation for it is badly written doesn't help.
