problem in installing yum
 

I did try to rebuild the yum source package "yum-2.6.1-1.src.rpm" by using the command"rpmbuild --rebuild yum-2.6.1-1.src.rpm", here are the errors:

I'm using RHE4

python is not installed, or you have a python-installation that is not expected by the rpm you are rebuilding.

I have installed python(2.4.3)
are there any vision of yum suit my python??

Here is a list of dependencies for (one of) the RHEL4 yum rpm(s) on rpmfind.net

In fact - this rpm would seem to be a better bet than the one you are trying to install.
