problem in installation of ns-2.26 and bgp++ patch in ubuntu 10.04

dear knudfl
i want to install ns-2.26 and bgp++ patch in ubuntu 10.04.
According to your previous post #2,

i installed the patch

patch -p0 < ns-2.26-gcc410.patch

then export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41 && ./install

then i got following errors.

* Build OTcl-1.0a8
No .configure file found in current directory
Continuing with default options...
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for gcc... gcc34
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
otcl-1.0a8 configuration failed! Exiting ...
Please check
for common problems and bug fixes.

I could not install bgp++
according to following link
Please suggest

Ubuntu 10.04 reached end-of-life last year on servers and is no longer supported.

is there any way to install ns-2.26? it is very much required to install bgp++ patch.
