Problem Getting started with kernel thread

I am trying to implement kernel thread so I tried to compile few codes from net but none of them is working.
one of the code is from :

Error:fatal error: linux/modversions.h: No such file or directory
(I searched for the file modversion.h of my machine but couldn't found it.)

Probably you don't have the kernel headers installed. Just install kernel headers that match your kernel image.
