Problem of installing another gcc in redhat 7.3

Hi all,

I am a newbie of Linux, and I have a situation here. I am trying to install gcc 3.1 in Redhat7.3 while it already has the gcc2.96. Can anyone teach me how to do it? I did some research but still don't know how to do t. I really need a detailed help coz I just knew this OS for a week only. Thank you very very much.

I wish I could, but it is an embedded system. And that's why I can't change it.
