I have recently installed Redhat 6.2. Configured everything successfuuly except the display resolution. i have onboard i810 chipset graphics controller with celeron 500 and 128 MB RAM. The resolution is pretty good but not up to my expectation. Colors doesn't seem to be 24 bit and fonts and icons are very big. I tried to edit XF86Config but wasn't able to get best resolution.
Please help.
Regards.

Have you tried Xconfigurator? Instead of XF86Config, try that!

I already tried it before trying to edit XF86Config manualli. I was unsuccessfull at that time. I feel that the colors are good. But the problem is all the windows are wery big and fonts also makes me to feel the same.

Best thing to do is start out small, then gradually move up until you find the resolution you like. You said 24 bit, you should try a smaller bit size to start out. What driver are you selecting in Xconfigurator for your graphics?
