Problem compiling

Just installed linux, and I am trying to install Fluxbox. After I typed ./configure on the last line it says
Code:
configure: error: Fluxbox requires the X Window System libraries and headers.
Anyone know where I can get the libraries?

By the way, after I installed Fluxbox how am I able to set it as my default windowmanager when linux starts up.

i assumed you installed X via a binary method (RPM or Debian package or slackare package or whatever)
and now you are attempting to compile from source a window manager....

so you need to install the X source code.... (source packages are labeled -devel)
so install the X-devel or Xorg-devel or Xfree-devel.. whatever your distro (whatever it is) uses.

(if you want lett whatevers in your answer, fill in the distro part of your profile)

ok u can first try to see if they are in the cds by searching in the software manager in the mandrake control center , if u didnt find them then type :

urpmi.removemedia -a

urpmi.addmedia main
http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/dis...586/media/main
with synthesis.hdlist.cz

urpmi.addmedia jpackage
http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/dis...media/jpackage
with synthesis.hdlist.cz

urpmi.addmedia contrib
http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/dis.../media/contrib
with synthesis.hdlist.cz

urpmi.addmedia updates
http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/dis...1/main_updates
with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz

urpmi.update -a

this will setup urpmi which u will then find anything u want in the software manager
