problem changing a file permission permanently

hello.

i am developping an application that needs to poll the device file: /dev/input/mice

i belong to a group that has no permission to read this file, so i use the following command:

sudo chgrp alexandre /dev/input/mice

(alexandre is the group that i belong...)

now, the problem is that when i restart the computer, i must do this command again, because it looses the changes i make.

how can i permanently change the access permission to this kind of device files? (preferably using this group method...)

thank you for your attention,

Alexandre

sorry for not being specific.

i use Kubuntu 6.06

when I do a 'ls -l' i get:

crw-rw---- 1 root root 13, 63 2006-11-20 17:13 /dev/input/mice

when i type 'groups':

alexandre adm dialout cdrom floppy audio dip video plugdev lpadmin scanner admin

and then, to access the file:

sudo chgrp alexandre /dev/input/mice

...now, about the 'udev' i guess so because i have the latest kernel.
