Firstly I have winxppro and Linux on 2 seperate drives. i was in linux surfing away when konqueror crashed. My machine froze. I had to press the reset button on my machine. Then I booted up the machine. Lilo came up as normal and I selected Linux. Instead of going into KDE it goes into Localhost and asks me to login. It goes into what im told is called "Icewarm". when I logout and restart my computer and do the same thing it boots into icewarm again.

Before i either dump Linux or reinstall linux is there a way to get into KDE or am I frelled.

Try running drakconf as root. This will open up the Mandrake Control Center and there is a section there which sets the display manager. Choosing kdm should sort things.
