problem booting Fedora
i'm completely new to linux, my computer teacher has been urging me to try it out, so i got some old machines and put together a decent box. i know for a fact the harddrive, ram and cd-rom are good. i keep getting the error "please insert proper boot media, press any key when ready". the cdrom is showing up as the Sec. Slave and i cant get the harddrive to show up at all. HELPP please.

So it doesn't boot the Fedora CD (is this right?). Did you burn the images correctly? Have you every booted other CDs like Knoppix successfully?

yes
this is my teacher's cd, he's a network engineer for the school and is possitive the cd works. no, i have never booted a linux system before, only windows, and i'm not very familiar with knoppix.
