private bind name server in fedora 6

I'm still a newbie in fedora 6, but I'm trying would to setup up a bind name server for my home network. I won't be hosting any zones and would just like to query the root servers. Would this be possible?

yes certainly. this is, i believe, what most default installations will do. you can use a specfic rpm to provide this config which should ideally just be installed through yum, but also available here http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i386.rpm.html (newer updates may have superceded this though.)

Thank you for the reply. I wanted some confirmation that this can be done.

looking at the link, the proper service that i'm setting up is a local Caching Nameserver.
